Michael Wilks

Michael Wilks is the current Director of Finance at balena. Prior to their current position, Wilks served as Head of Finance at BuffaloGrid from July 2018 to August 2019, where they were responsible for the company's finances internationally. Michael also previously worked as Financial Controller at Winnow from January 2017 to July 2018, where they built a finance function, policy framework and team from scratch. Additionally, Wilks has experience as an Assistant Manager in Energy and Resources at Deloitte UK from January 2013 to December 2016.

Michael Wilks has a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Theirtory from the University of Oxford, a Master of Arts in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS University of London, and an International Baccalaureate in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Theirtory, Latin, and English from Malvern College. Michael also has certification in Chartio Specialist - Level 1 from Chartio and ACA from ICAEW.

They are on a team with John Kelly - Head of People, Carlo Maria Curinga - Director of Technology Operations (Europe), and Alison Davis Riddell - COO. Michael Wilks reports to Alexandros Marinos, Founder & CEO.
