Sarah Masters has a diverse work experience spanning over several organizations. Sarah started their career as the General Manager at Dance Works, where they were responsible for the day-to-day running of the organization. Sarah then moved on to become the Operations Manager at Footscray Community Arts Centre, where they successfully implemented operational changes and managed financial responsibilities. Sarah later served as the Head of Operations at the Wheeler Centre, overseeing the implementation and delivery of operational models for the organization. Sarah then took on leadership roles at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka (MADE) as the General Manager, responsible for the day-to-day management of the museum, and later as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. Before their current role as the Head of Fundraising and Engagement at Ballarat Health Services, Sarah was the Facilities and Operations Manager at Contemporary Arts Precincts Ltd.

Sarah Masters completed their education at two institutions. From 1984 to 1986, they attended the National Institute of Dramatic Arts and obtained their Bachelor of Dramatic Art (Technical). Their field of study was Technical Production. Later, from 2007 to 2011, they pursued a Master of Arts Management degree at Deakin University. Their field of study in this program was Arts and Entertainment Management.
