Joshua Tatro has had a varied and successful career in the education and research fields. In 2018, they began working for BallotReady as an Elections Researcher and Electoral Fellow. In this role, they provided assistance with research tasks and managed teams of freelance researchers. Prior to this, they worked as a 6-8th Grade English Language Arts Teacher for George Washington Carver STEM School from 2016-2018. In 2015, they were a 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher for E-Prep Cliffs Campus. In 2009, they were the Program Director for 41° North Coastal Kayak Adventures. In 2014, they were a Copy Editor and Analyst for The Freedonia Group. In 2013, they were a MAPSS Graduate Student (MA) at The University of Chicago, as well as a Teaching Assistant for Knox College. In 2012, they were a Community Development Intern for the Center for Midwestern Initiatives (a branch of the Rural School and Community Trust).

Joshua Tatro began their educational journey in 2009 at The Ohio State University, studying Sociology. Joshua then transferred to Knox College in 2011, where they earned their BA in Anthropology & Sociology. In 2013, Tatro continued their education at The University of Chicago, where they earned a Master of Arts in Social Science with a focus on Sociology.
