Helen Sofía R. has a wealth of professional experience, beginning with a Congressional Intern position at the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013. Helen Sofía then worked as a Legal Intern and Legal Assistant at the Law Office of Evan D. George and Gloria Roa Bodin, P.A. respectively. In 2015, Helen Sofía R. took on a Language Assistant role at the University of Florida. From 2016-2018, they served as a Deputy Town Clerk and Administrative Assistant to the Council at the Town of Miami Lakes, Florida. During this same time, they were also a Community Engagement and Outreach Specialist and Graduate Research Assistant at the same institution. From 2018-2021, Helen Sofía R. held the role of Research and Outreach Coordinator and Marketing and Research Associate at the FIU Metropolitan Center. Most recently, they were appointed Director of Communications & Special Events at North Bay Village in 2021, and is currently the Director of Communications & Public Affairs at Ballyhoo Media since 2022.
Helen Sofía R. began their educational journey in 2011 when they earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) in Political Science from The Honors College at Miami Dade College. Helen Sofía then attended the University of Florida from 2013 to 2015 and earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government. In 2017, they completed a Master of Public Administration - MPA from Florida International University in Public Administration. In 2019, they completed a Case Study on the Policy Management in Seoul: Seoul Case Study Program (SCSP) from the University of Seoul in Public Administration and Public Policy.
