Data and Market Assessment

The Data and Market Assessment team at The Baltic Exchange is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and publishing market data related to global shipping activities. This includes daily benchmarks for various freight markets, such as dry, wet, container, and gas freight, as well as assessments for ship operating expenses (OPEX), sales and purchase (S&P) transactions, and ship recycling. The team ensures the data's accuracy and compliance with regulations, supporting the settlement of physical and derivative freight contracts and aiding in risk management for shipping and transportation markets.
