Sally Gitonga

Investment Director - Build Fund at Bamboo Capital Partners

Sally Gitonga has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several decades. Sally most recently worked at Bamboo Capital Partners as an Investment Director for the BUILD Fund, where they focus on impact investing in SMEs in emerging markets. Prior to that, Sally held the position of Director - Investments Portfolio at The AECF, where they supported businesses in Africa to innovate and create jobs. Sally also served as the Country Manager at Business Partners, overseeing the operations of the Kenya office. Earlier in their career, Sally held roles at Commercial Bank of Africa and Barclays Bank of Kenya, where they played key roles in business banking, risk analysis, and management training.

Sally Gitonga's education history begins with their certification as an Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, which they obtained in 2022. Prior to that, they completed an MBA at United States International University - Africa from 1997 to 2000. Sally also holds a BA in Economics and Sociology from the University of Nairobi, which they acquired from 1989 to 1992.

Furthermore, Sally has recently pursued further professional development by obtaining a Certification in ESG and Impact Investing from the Frankfurt School Sustainable World Academy, which they completed in April 2023. Sally had previously acquired another certification in the field of Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance from the same institution in April 2022.
