SVP, Security and Compliance at Banjo

Derek Price is the Senior Vice President of Security and Compliance at Banjo. Derek has held this position since May 2019. Prior to Banjo, Derek was the Chief Security Officer at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) from May 1999 to May 2019. In this role, Derek managed a staff of Personnel Security Specialists, Associate Security Managers and guard force. Derek was responsible for the physical security, safety and accountability of over 400 employees and the security and protection of 14 facilities spread across three states (Utah, Idaho and Montana). Derek also oversaw access control systems, security clearances, personnel security background investigations, construction of new secure facilities, SCIFs and the FBI guard forces.

Derek began their career as an Associate Attorney at Stuman and Associates from January 1996 to May 1999 before becoming the President of Spartan Analytics Group LLC.

Derek Price has a JD from the University of San Diego School of Law, with a focus in Employment Law, Intellectual Property, Regulatory Law and Criminal Law. Derek also has a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Whittier College. In addition, they are certified by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in FBI SWAT Certification, Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) in ALERRT - Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE), and Behavioral Analysis / Threat Assessment and Management. Derek is also certified by the San Francisco Fire Department in Certified Tactical EMT, the U.S. Department of State in Dignitary Protection, and the United States Secret Service in Executive Protection Tactical Medicine.

Derek Price reports to Justin R. Lindsey, CEO. They work with Franz Busse - SVP of Technology, Jessie Councilman - VP of Finance & Operations, and T.J. Marchetti - Chief Strategy Officer.
