Swapan Kumar Pradhan

Swapan Kumar Pradhan has extensive work experience in the field of international banking statistics. Swapan Kumar started their career at the Reserve Bank of India in 1995, where they held various roles including Research Officer and Assistant Adviser. During their time there, they played a key role in designing and implementing data structures and software for the collection and compilation of international banking statistics. Swapan Kumar also provided training and coaching to bank officials and acted as a contact person for interactions with the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). In 2003, they joined the BIS as a Statistical Analyst and later progressed to Senior Statistical Analyst and Principal Statistical Analyst. In their current role, they are responsible for conceptualization, compilation, research, and review of international banking statistics. Swapan Kumar has also played a significant role in designing and implementing data structures and guidelines for post-GFC enhancements to international banking statistics.

Swapan Kumar Pradhan completed a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Ramakrishna Mission Residential College, Narendrapur, W.B in 1989. Swapan Kumar then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Statistics from the University of Calcutta from 1989 to 1991. In 2002, they obtained a degree in Banking and Finance (JAIIB) from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. Currently, Swapan Kumar Pradhan is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Economics from the University of Calcutta, with an expected completion in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Swapan Kumar Pradhan has obtained various certifications. Some of these include the edX Verified Certificate for Financial Soundness Indicators from the International Monetary Fund (score 92%), the edX Verified Certificate for BoP and IIP Statistics from edX (score 88%), and the Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning certificate from LinkedIn, all obtained in 2022-2023. Swapan Kumar has also acquired certifications in organizational design, leadership styles, agile leadership, team culture, AI for everyone, high performance collaboration, and data science, among others.
