Matthew Koder is president of Global Corporate and Investment Banking for Bank of America, and is a member of the company’s executive management team. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the business and drives the firm’s strategy globally. He is currently based in New York.
Koder was formerly president of Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for managing and driving growth for all of Bank of America’s businesses in the region. He joined the bank in 2011 as head of Asia Pacific Global Corporate and Investment Banking. Prior to this, he worked at UBS in Hong Kong and London for eight years, most recently as head of Global Capital markets, responsible for all debt and equity origination and execution activities for the bank. He was also a member of the bank’s Global Management Committee. He joined UBS in 2003 as head of Equity Capital Markets in Asia, was appointed head of Global Equity Capital Markets in 2006, and head of Global Capital Markets in 2008. Before UBS, he worked in the Investment Banking and Equity Capital Markets divisions of Goldman Sachs for 10 years in Hong Kong, Sydney and New York.
Koder has more than 25 years of global investment banking experience and has resided in Asia for the majority of that time. He has extensive privatization, strategic, advisory and capital markets experience, advising on hundreds of transactions across all countries and sectors.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce with first-class honors in finance from University of New South Wales, Australia.
