Hisham El-Bihbety

Hisham El-Bihbety is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in information security and project management, currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at the Bank of Canada since April 2012. In this role, Hisham leads cyber security initiatives and coordinates efforts across various cyber teams to strengthen the financial sector's cyber resilience. Previous positions include Senior Director roles for the Cyber Security Division and overseeing IT Security Operations at the Bank of Canada, as well as a decade-long tenure at Mitel, managing projects and business applications during a significant merger. Hisham's career began in design engineering, with notable roles at Dar Al Handasah and JDS Uniphase, showcasing a diverse skill set across multiple industries. Hisham holds a Master of Public Administration from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Cairo University.
