Leo Liu

Senior Vice President, Head Of Global Markets at Bank of China

Leo Liu has a strong background in finance and banking, with extensive experience working at Bank of China. Leo first joined Bank of China in 2000 as a Manager in the Money Market department, before later becoming the Treasurer and Head of FX Trading. In this role, Leo was responsible for increasing the balance sheet from $5 billion to $80 billion, coordinating debt issuances, and launching global liquidity funds. Leo also developed cash forecast and liquidity management models to meet Basel III framework. Leo left Bank of China in 2015 to join Dajia US as the Managing Director, CFO, and Board Director for Strategic Hotels & Resorts. In this position, they focused on finance, acquisitions, and operational efficiency. Leo then joined Global Strategic Associates, LLC in 2020 as a Senior Advisor, where they specialized in providing access to investment capital, advising on global investment opportunities, and analyzing geopolitical trends. Currently, Leo serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Markets at Bank of China.

Leo Liu attended Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2016, where they studied "Going global, Acting local." Leo obtained a Master's Degree in Financial Engineering from New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering. Prior to that, they earned a BA in International Economics from Peking University. Additionally, Leo Liu holds certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager) certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals, Series 66-Uniform Combined State Law certified by FINRA, and Series 7-General Securities Representative certified by FINRA.
