Dr. Sgouria Lyra

Dr. Sgouria (Iro) Lyra is currently serving as Principal Enterprise Architect - Data at the Bank of England since March 2023. Prior to this role, Dr. Lyra worked as an Enterprise Architect at BT from June 2021 to March 2023 and as a Senior Management Consultant at Capco from March 2015 to June 2021. Dr. Lyra also has experience as a Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories from April 2012 to February 2015, focusing on massively parallel simulations to tackle design challenges for gas turbine combustors, and at the University of Cambridge from February 2011 to April 2012, where a novel method for modeling pollutant emissions from industrial gas turbines was developed. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Mechanical Engineering/Computational Thermofluids from Imperial College London (2006-2010) and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (2001-2006).
