Joy Huss has over 30 years of work experience. Joy began their career in 1990 as Merchandise Manager at Heidelberg Golf Club, where they managed golf merchandising operations with annual sales of $530,000. In 2004, they began working for USAG Mannheim (DoD) as a Support Services Specialist and Administrative Secretary. During this time, they were responsible for tracking personnel actions, supply, procurement, and other administrative transactions as the communications and documentation flow through the Command Group Headquarters. In 2007, Joy started working for Three-Generation Cooking Academy as Director of Product Development, where they developed and executed strategic business and marketing plans for a new upstart business. In 2008, they worked as an Administrative Assistant (Golf Academy), Public Relations, and Conference and Event Coordinator for Traidhos Three-Generation Community for Learning. In 2009, Joy founded Hand to Paw Temple Dog Outreach, a charity that addressed the plight of stray, abandoned, injured, ill, and abused dogs within local community temples in Mae Rim, Thailand. In 2014, they began working for BankersLab as a Virtual Operations Manager, where they provided remote operational and administrative support to BankersLab hubs in Singapore and California. Finally, in 2018, Joy began working for Skoch Services, Inc. as an Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper.

Joy Huss received their High School Diploma from Marian High School in 1979. Joy then attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they earned their Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Graphic Design in 1983. During their time at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, they also participated in a Study Abroad Program at the University of Cadiz in Spain, focusing on Spanish and Spanish Culture in 1982.
