Umair Merchant

Umair Merchant has a diverse work experience spanning over different roles and companies. Umair started their career as a Financial Services Intern at Habib Metropolitan Bank in 2004. Umair then served as an IT Intern at MCB Bank Limited before joining Astro Outsource as an IT Manager in 2005. At Astro Outsource, they were responsible for designing and setting up network and system infrastructure, as well as implementing VoIP solutions and a Contact Centre Solution.

Umair then moved to Citi, where they worked as an MIS Analyst - Acquiring from 2006 to 2007. In this role, they were responsible for preparing profitability and productivity reports, developing statistical models, and analyzing interchange reports.

Following their stint at Citi, Umair worked at Barclays Bank as an MIS Analyst - Cards for a brief period in 2007. Umair then joined Abu Dhabi Finance, where they held various roles, including IT Manager, Associate Manager - Applications, Manager - IT & Change Management, and Vice President - IT & Change Management. In these roles, they managed IT operations, budget, and various technology projects, achieved high availability and uptime for IT services, and conducted supplier negotiations for cost savings.

Umair later joined First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) as an Assistant Vice President & Program Manager in 2014. In this role, they built successful project teams, developed work plans and project schedules, and ensured the quality of deliverables.

Overall, Umair has demonstrated their expertise in IT and change management, program and project management, IT operations, and data analysis throughout their career.

Umair Merchant obtained a Bsc Hons degree in Computer Science from Staffordshire University from 2001 to 2005. In 2010, they completed a PMP - Project Management Professional program at the Chicago Management Training Institute. Additionally, they have acquired various certifications throughout their career, including Google Analytics Individual Qualification, Certified Scrum Master, PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner, COBIT 5, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Project Management Professional (PMP), TOGAF 9, ITIL v3, Strategic IT Manager, Advanced Google Analytics, and Google Analytics for Beginners.
