As a reflection of Baptist Health’s commitment to making it easy for people to connect with us to improve their health, Melanie Husk is helping bring to life the consumer experience of the future. In her role, she oversees marketing, planning, advertising, brand management, digital, social and public relations, corporate communications and social responsibility, and works with champions across the enterprise to implement an omni-channel vision for consumer/patient access and engagement.
Melanie joined Baptist Health in 2006 after a 26-year career as a founding partner and president of Husk Jennings, a Jacksonville-based advertising agency with local, regional and national clients in industries ranging from health care to financial services.
Active in the community, Husk has served on the boards of various organizations, including the YMCA Metro Board, United Way of Northeast Florida, The University of North Florida Foundation and International Women’s Foundation. She served on the Board of Easter Seals for 12 years, earning recognition as the first individual outside of the medical profession to receive its Professional Advisor of the Year Award. She is currently a member of the American Marketing Association’s Healthcare Executives group and serves on the board of Bright Holidays.
Husk graduated with honors from the University of North Florida in 1977. In 2006, the UNF College of Arts & Sciences named her an Outstanding Alumnus and in 2013, she was selected to receive the Presidential Medallion. She has earned a number of awards for her professional and volunteer work, including being selected as a Florida Times-Union EVE Award finalist, a Tribute to Women (TWIN) winner, and a Jacksonville Business Journal Woman of Influence.
