Javier Agüera

Javier Agüera has a diverse and extensive work experience. Javier'smost recent position is as a Co-Founder of Stealth Co, where they are involved in transforming the way children reach digital adulthood through smartphone ownership. Prior to this, they served as an Affiliate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, working on exploring new paradigms to address the social contract between parents, teenagers, and technology. Javier also held the role of Assembly Fellow at the same organization, focusing on similar initiatives.

Javier has also been involved with organizations such as Sandbox, where they served on the Governance Council, and Barbara IoT, where they were a Co-founder and Advisor. Javier has also gained experience as an Owner at Nobu Ventures & Advisory.

Javier has been involved in initiatives related to human rights and justice, serving as a member of the Advisory Board for eyeWitness to Atrocities, a project initiated by the International Bar Association. Javier has also been engaged in academia, working as a Teaching Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and as an SERC Scholar.

Javier Agüera completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Telematics Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Design, Engineering & Management (IDM) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2020 to 2022. During their time at MIT, Javier also obtained a Teaching Certificate from the institution in May 2022. Additionally, they hold certifications as a "la Caixa" Foundation Fellow, obtained from Fundación "la Caixa" in January 2019, and as a Social and Behavioral Research Investigator, acquired from the CITI Program in February 2021.
