Rekha Aggarwal

Rekha Aggarwal is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in risk management and operational oversight. Currently serving as the Head of Controls Oversight and Remediation at Barclays since August 2024, Rekha leads Non-Financial Risk and Controls oversight for Barclays UK, with a focus on fostering a robust risk culture and enhancing automation. Prior to this role, Rekha spent nearly a decade at HSBC, holding positions such as Global Head of Transformation and Regional Chief Control Officer, where key contributions included designing strategic transformation initiatives across 60 global markets and enhancing operational risk management frameworks. Rekha's career also includes significant roles at Emirates NBD, Barclays, Emirates Islamic, and Citi, characterized by the establishment of operational risk strategies and fostering process improvements. Academically, Rekha holds a Master's in Operational Research, Finance and Financial Management Services from Delhi University and completed a program on Essential Management Skills for Emerging Leaders at Harvard University.
