Dan Rood

Dan Rood has extensive experience in creative and design roles. Dan started their career in 1993 as an Art Director/Designer at Carrousel Trading Company, where they worked until 1996. Dan then worked as an Art Director at Art & Sign Inc. / BT Design from 1996 to 1998, overseeing various types of print design and 3D environmental graphic design. From 1998 to 2004, they served as an Art Director at Sullivan Higdon & Sink, where they were responsible for design direction and information architecture support for internet and software applications, as well as the re-branding of Captain D's Seafood Restaurants.

From 2004 to 2006, Dan worked as a Senior Ad/Creative Director at Blue Ocean Consulting/ Athenix Solutions, where they created and oversaw online brand presence and development for clients, as well as leading interaction design and information architecture initiatives. Dan also worked as a freelance Creative/Get it done guy at danrood design from 2000 to 2006.

In 2006, Dan joined Miller Meiers Communication Arts Agency as the VP - Creative Director, a position they held until 2017. There, they played a significant role in leading the creative team.

In 2015, Dan took on the role of Creative Director/Design Consulting at Alliance Harsha Advertising, specializing in advertising and marketing communications for independent retailers. Dan'stime at the agency lasted until 2016.

In 2017, Dan founded their own company, Dan Rood Creative, where they serve as the Owner/Creative Director. Dan brings brands to life using their skills as a creative director, thinker, designer, maker, and visual storyteller.

In 2019, Dan became an Associate Creative Director at Callahan, a position they held until June 2023. During their time at the company, they also served as a Senior Art Director from 2020 to 2023 and a Senior Designer from 2019 to 2023.

Most recently, Dan joined Barkley in June 2023 as an Associate Creative Director.

Dan Rood completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Visual Communication - Graphic Design at The University of Kansas, where they studied from 1987 to 1991.
