VP, Engineering at Barn2Door

Geoff Schwab is the Vice President of Engineering at Barn2Door, a SaaS commerce platform servicing farmers selling direct to consumers and wholesale customers. Geoff has over 24 years of experience in the engineering field and has been with Barn2Door since January 2020.

Under Geoff's leadership, the Barn2Door engineering team has experienced unprecedented growth, increasing order volume by 20x in just one year. Geoff has also been instrumental in securing $12M in Series A funding for the company. Geoff participates in and presents at Board of Directors meetings, VC fundraisers, and company trainings.

The Barn2Door platform is built using React/Redux and is hosted on AWS with node.js and scalable Java/Spring services on the back-end. Geoff designed and led the transition from a Monolith to a Services Oriented Architecture, including the migration from Heroku to AWS (ECS/EC2/ELB, ElastiCache, Aurora/RDS, Lambda, SQS, etc.)

Geoff has built a strong engineering team at Barn2Door, hiring 24 engineers in less than 16 months without compromising standards. Geoff has also created functional pods consisting of Leads, SDEs, and QAEs, and grown the Technical Support team from 1 to 5.

Geoff has implemented best practices including an onboarding process, training, scrum, technical design and architecture reviews

Geoff Schwab has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington.
