Gregor Koenig

Gregor Koenig is a seasoned professional in software engineering and academia, currently serving as Software Engineering Manager and Lead at Barracuda since January 2013, overseeing the CG Firewall Control Center Team in Vienna. With a strong background in high-performance and security-critical data management from their time as a Software Engineer in the NG Firewall Linux Kernel development team, Gregor also contributes to education as a Lecturer at Fachhochschule Technikum Wien since 2015, teaching courses on firewall architectures and network security. Previous roles include Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical Engineering at AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Lecturer at Vienna University of Technology, and System Software Engineer at Frequentis, complemented by a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the Medical University of Vienna and an MSc in Computer Science from Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg.
