Kate Roin is a trial lawyer who represents clients around the country in high-stakes litigation, including disputes related to trade secrets, patents, breach of contract, non-competes, stock options, and Civil RICO. Kate was co-lead trial counsel in a breach of contact case related to a terminal emulation software for Micro Focus, and second chair on a trade secret jury trial for Hewlett Packard Enterprise related to automating testing software. She was also a member of HPE's trial team against Oracle that resulted in a $3 billion award for HPE.
Before joining Bartlit Beck, Kate clerked for Judge Terence T. Evans on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and for Judge Robert M. Dow of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Kate is a graduate of Amherst College and The University of Chicago Law School.
