Barwon Health
James McLure is a seasoned researcher and mental health professional with extensive experience in both academic and practical settings. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Deakin University since November 2021, McLure is involved in the CHIME project, focusing on creating improved mental health care outcomes through co-designing effective interventions with a diverse group of stakeholders. McLure has also been a Senior Peer Support Worker at Barwon Health since December 2016, where a key achievement includes establishing a post-discharge peer support service aimed at reducing hospital readmissions. Previously, McLure held roles at Pathways Rehabilitation and Support Services Ltd and at Flinders University, where a PhD focused on drug interaction determinants was completed. McLure holds a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Science from Flinders University and a Victorian Certificate of Education from Geelong High School.
