Data Scientist at BASE life science

Phillippe Baptista's work experience includes a role as a Data Scientist at BASE life science starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Researcher in Data Science applied to the Musculoskeletal System at INTO - Instituto Nacional de Traumatologia e Ortopedia Jamil Haddad from December 2021 to October 2022. In this role, they were responsible for designing and leading research projects, managing projects, supporting teaching activities, generating reports, and presenting data. Phillippe developed a computational optimization tool to reduce surgery wait times and a machine learning project to identify Brazilian brands of prosthetic implants using x-ray images. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro from August 2019 to September 2021. In this role, they worked with bioinformatics methodologies to solve problems related to microbial resistance using biological data and developed Python pipelines for data processing.

Phillippe Baptista has a diverse education history. Phillippe started their academic journey in 2001 at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Biology/Biological Sciences. Phillippe completed their undergraduate studies in 2006.

In 2008, Phillippe enrolled at the Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica (LNCC) to pursue a Master's degree in Computational modeling. Phillippe successfully completed this program in 2011.

Afterward, in 2015, they joined FIOCRUZ - Fundação Oswaldo Cruz to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computational and Systems Biology. Phillippe completed this program in 2019.

Phillippe's educational qualifications also include a postgraduate specialization in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, completed at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

To further enhance their skills, Phillippe pursued an Associate's degree in Computer Science at the University of the People, starting in 2017. Phillippe is expected to complete this program in 2023.

Additionally, outside of their formal education, Phillippe has obtained two certifications. Phillippe acquired the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2021. In May 2023, they obtained the Vault Platform Associate Administrator certification from Veeva Training Services.
