Thomas Milo

Thomas Milo has a diverse work experience in the field of Arabic typography and computer technology. Thomas started their career as a partner at DecoType in 1985. In 1992, Milo became an associate member of the Unicode Consortium, where they made significant contributions to the fine-tuning of Arabic coverage in the Unicode Standard. Thomas also worked as an Arabic computer typography developer for the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Oman. Milo has authored and licensed the New Concordance to the Qur'an for Brill Academic Publishers. Thomas has also been a member of various research institutions, including the Inarah Institute for Research on Early Islam and Koran Saarbrücken and The Islamic Manuscript Association. Milo provided consultancy services for Basis Technology, WinSoft International, and ICANN, where they served as an expert advisor. Additionally, they worked as an Arabic typography specialist and font designer at Tradigital, specializing in the reconstruction and digitization of fonts used in historical Qur'an manuscripts.
