Laboratory Fellow And Chief Cybersecurity Scientist at Idaho National Laboratory

Greg Shannon, Ph.D., currently serves as a Laboratory Fellow and Chief Cybersecurity Scientist at the Idaho National Laboratory, where Greg focuses on advancing national and homeland security missions and enhancing lab-wide infrastructure security. In addition to roles at the United States Department of the Air Force Science Advisory Board and as an Adjunct Professor at The Ohio State University, Shannon is the Chief Science Officer at the Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute, driving cybersecurity improvements for manufacturers. As a founding member of the WiCyS Board and co-chair of the ICS/OT CWE/CAPEC Special Interest Group, Shannon advocates for addressing the cybersecurity workforce gap and women's representation in the field. Previous positions include a principal member of the technical staff at Carnegie Mellon University and assistant director for cybersecurity strategy at the Executive Office of the President, with extensive volunteer leadership in IEEE. Shannon holds a Ph.D. in Computer Sciences from Purdue University, alongside additional degrees and executive education from several prestigious institutions.
