Senior Vice President & General Manager National Security at Battelle

George L. has extensive work experience in the national security and threat reduction sector. George began their career in 1982 as an officer in the US Army, serving for over 22 years in various positions, including Executive Officer for the Guardian Brigade and Commanding the Technical Escort Unit. In 2007, George joined Battelle as the Site Manager and Project Chief Scientist at the Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant. George was responsible for laboratory operations, environmental compliance, and process engineering. In 2012, they became the Vice President and Manager of Chemical Demilitarization Pilot Plant Services, overseeing resources and personnel at the Blue Grass and Pueblo Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plants. In 2015, George was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Threat Reduction, where they developed and executed strategic business plans and managed client relationships. Currently, they hold the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of National Security at Battelle.

George L. obtained a Bachelor's degree in Analytical Chemistry from The Citadel in 1982. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, which they completed in 2001.
