Financial Analyst

We’re looking fora highly skilled and detail-oriented financial analyst to join our dynamic finance team. As a financial analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong background in budgeting and forecasting, along with exceptional analytical and communication skills.

Specifically, we’re looking for a Financial Analyst who can do:

Budgeting and forecasting

• Collaborate with various department heads to develop and manage annual budgets
• Prepare monthly and YTD budget reports with variance analyses and recommendations for improvement, and strategic adjustments
• Create and continuously update detailed financial models to support forecasting activities using historical financial data, actual performance, and current market trends
• Develop a deep understanding of corporate and global strategic initiatives, priorities and challenges while working closely with stakeholders to understand business drivers and incorporate them into financial projections

Financial analysis

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes

• Evaluate financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks

• Provide analysis of  business performance and recommend action plans, including gap closures, process improvements, cost management and revenue growth opportunities

• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management

Data management

• Gather, organize, and analyze financial data from various sources

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information in databases and reports

• Develop and maintain financial databases and spreadsheets for efficient data retrieval and analysis

Financial reporting

• Generate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders

• Contribute to the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including consolidations

• Prepare monthly carrier reporting, as assigned

• Assist the Claims Department with reporting needs, including escheatment and claims carrier reporting

• Determine opportunities and solutions to improve and streamline external reporting

Collaboration and communication

• Collaborate with  teams to understand business needs and provide financial support and analysis

• Communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner

• Work closely with the global accounting team to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions

• Have  the ability to work independently, identify issues, and effectively present solutions

• Use strong people skills to build effective relationships with senior management and a close-knit finance team

essentials:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

• Proven experience as a financial analyst with a focus on budgeting and forecasting

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis

• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software

• Familiarity with GAAP and STAT reporting

preferred:

• Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or equivalent

• Experience with ERP systems and financial planning software

• Insurance and/or start-up experience

• Global consolidations and transfer pricing
