Alex Montiel-Aguilar

Alex Montiel-Aguilar has over 27 years of experience in architecture. Alex is currently the Co-Managing Director and Head of the Design Department at Baumschlager Eberle Architekten, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Monoplan AG as a Project Leader from October 2020 to August 2021. From November 2012 to September 2020, they were a Senior Architect and Project Leader at Diener & Diener Architekten. Alex also worked as a Project Architect at Edificación Racional SA in 2005 and as an Architect at A3K Architectuur Atelier Ab König from 2001 to 2005. Alex started their career as a Student Trainee at Edificación Racional SA in 1994, where they worked until April 2000.

Alex Montiel-Aguilar completed their education in a chronological order. From 1995 to 2000, they attended Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and earned a degree in Architecture. Following that, they pursued further studies at the Summer Institute of Architecture at The Catholic University of America. Although the end year is not specified, it can be assumed that they completed this program. Finally, from 2000 to 2005, Alex attended Academie van Bouwkunst Maastricht, Nederland, where they obtained a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree.
