Clara Märk

Clara Märk has a diverse work experience spanning different roles in various companies. Clara started their career in 2017 as an intern at Instituto Superior Técnico, where they conducted research on mycoplasma detection and eradication in mammalian cell cultures. Later that year, they also worked as a medical assistant at Chirurgie im Zentrum. In 2018, they joined the Medizinische Universität Wien as a grad student within the Group of Ao. Univ. -Prof. Clara then transitioned to the industry and worked at Pfizer as a production operator and continuous improvement specialist until 2020. During that time, they also briefly worked as an associate specialist at MSD. From 2020 to 2021, Clara worked as a life science consultant at ALTEN Switzerland AG. In 2021, they became a bioprocess engineer at Lonza. Clara continued their career in the biopharmaceutical industry and took on the role of production manager at Emergent BioSolutions from November 2022 to May 2023. Currently, Clara Märk holds the position of production manager at Bavarian Nordic, starting from May 2023.

Clara Märk's education history begins in 2012 when they enrolled at IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences. From 2012 to 2015, they pursued a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Medical and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology. Following this, between 2016 and 2018, Clara attended the University of Vienna, although they did not complete their degree in Molecular Biology-Molecular Medicine.

In 2019, Clara Märk obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Clara completed a course on "Initiating and Planning Projects" offered by the University of California, Irvine Division of Continuing Education in December 2019. Additionally, they achieved certifications in "Six Sigma Tools for Analyze" and "Six Sigma Principles" from the University System of Georgia, both obtained in December 2019. Finally, in April 2019, Clara acquired a certification in "Innovation Management" from the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.

Most recently, Clara Märk pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering Management from Brunel University London, starting in 2020 and expected to finish in 2022.
