Timothy Plitnik has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Timothy is currently working at Bavarian Nordic as a Sr. Scientist since 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Emergent BioSolutions as a Sr. Scientist from 2021 to 2023. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Research Scientist at Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company, where they worked as a contract employee for Sanofi Pasteur and was involved in the design and coordination of preclinical studies for mRNA vaccines.

Their earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Researcher at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, from 2012 to 2019, where they focused on studying HIV-1 and SIV infection in primary human macrophages and genetic links to Alzheimer's Disease. Timothy also worked as a Research Associate at the same institution from 2010 to 2012, where they assisted in genetic study related to Alzheimer's Disease.

Timothy Plitnik completed their education at the University of Miami. From 2006 to 2010, they attended the University of Miami and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, General. Later, from 2012 to 2019, Timothy pursued their education at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Microbiology and Immunology. In addition to their formal education, Timothy has also obtained several certifications in subjects like Agile Project Leadership, Confronting Bias, Creating Winning Teams, and many others from LinkedIn. These certifications were obtained between 2022 and 2023.
