Austin Buchanan

Austin Buchanan has a diverse work background. Austin currently holds the position of Director, Scouting and Strategy at Bay FC, where they are responsible for scouting international, domestic, and U-18 players for the new expansion team. Austin'srole involves utilizing data analytics, video, and in-person reviews to create a comprehensive scouting process and working with agents and stakeholders to ensure successful transfers.

Prior to their current role, Austin was the Director, Strategy & Compliance at Soccer Holdings, LLC from 2021 to 2023. Austin also served as the Director of Analytics at Racing Louisville FC from 2020 to 2021.

Before entering the sports industry, Austin gained experience in the legal field. Austin worked as Division Counsel, Director of Operations at AgriFinancial from 2018 to 2021, where they ensured compliance with federal, state, and local regulations in the commercial agricultural lending sector. Additionally, they held the role of Division Counsel and Compliance Manager at AgriFinancial from 2017 to 2018.

Austin's early career includes positions such as V.P. of Education & Compliance at HomeServices of Kentucky Inc from 2015 to 2017, Real Estate Attorney at PITT & FRANK from 2014 to 2015, and Legal Clerk at Lawrence & Lawrence PLLC from 2012 to 2014.

Austin Buchanan graduated from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2014, obtaining a Doctor of Law - JD degree. Prior to that, from 2007 to 2011, they completed their Bachelor's of Science degree at the University of Louisville. In addition to their academic qualifications, Austin Buchanan has obtained certifications in "Modern Scouting and Data Driven Recruitment" and "Set Pieces Course" from StatsBomb in 2020.
