Damian Young

Damian Young is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in drug discovery and chemical biology. Currently serving as the Director of the Center for Drug Discovery at Baylor College of Medicine since January 2014, Damian also holds the Robert A. Welch Chair in Science and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Chemical Biology. Additional roles at Baylor include Associate Director of the Center for Drug Discovery and Scholar of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas. As a co-founder of DELIVER Therapeutics, Inc. and Scientific Collaboration Director at Blue Square Discoveries, Damian continues to advance scientific collaborations. Prior experience includes serving as Group Leader of the Chemical Biology Program at the Broad Institute and as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. Damian holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Howard University.
