Ortal Shimon

Ortal Shimon is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in molecular and cell biology. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist at Baylor College of Medicine since May 2023, Ortal Shimon also holds leadership roles at hylabs, including Head of the Molecular & Cell Biology Department and Chief Service Laboratories Officer since July 2016. Additionally, Ortal Shimon has been a Project Manager and R&D associate at Bar-Ilan University since 2013, overseeing the design and establishment of biological assays for drug screening and managing multi-disciplinary projects. In academia, Ortal Shimon has been a lecturer at both College of Health Professions and College of Management, teaching various biology and chemistry-related courses. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, a Master's in Biotechnology, and a Bachelor's in Molecular Biology, all obtained from Bar-Ilan University.
