Dermot Hughes

Dermot Hughes has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to the present. Dermot started their career as a Desktop Support Engineer at EMIS Health, where they were responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and software in GP Clinics. In 2016, Dermot joined Engage as a Technical Support Engineer, leading the Support Department and handling technical issues for clients such as Power NI and Irish Ferries. Later that year, they joined Chain Reaction Cycles as the Email Development Lead, overseeing the planning and delivery of responsive email campaigns and managing a team of developers. In 2018, Dermot became a Front End Engineer at Reward, where they worked on Front End Development and UX/UI Design for bank loyalty programs. Dermot then joined Micro Focus in 2019 as a Front End Software Engineer, specializing in Angular framework and developing an open and closed source design system called UX Aspects. In 2020, Dermot worked as a UX Developer at Atto Partners, and they are currently employed at Bazaarvoice as a Senior Software Engineer.

Dermot Hughes began their education at Abbey Grammar School in 2000 and completed their studies in 2007; however, no degree or field of study was specified during this time period. In 2008, they enrolled in Southern Regional College to pursue a BTEC National Diploma in Multimedia Design, which they completed in 2010. Dermot furthered their education at Ulster University from 2012 to 2015, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Technologies.
