Joseph Poirier

Joseph Poirier has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of engineering and technology. Joseph has held various leadership positions in companies such as Bazaarvoice, Blackbaud, Convio, Tivoli Systems/IBM, Compu-Train Inc., Synergis Inc., and Purdue University Computer Science Department.

At Bazaarvoice, Joseph held the positions of Vice President of Engineering, Senior Director of Engineering, Director of Engineering, and Senior Development Manager. In these roles, they led teams responsible for development, data insights and reporting, primary data storage, and cross-team platform services. Joseph also played a key role in migrating databases and content delivery network to the cloud.

During their time at Blackbaud, Joseph served as Director of Software Development, Director of Production IT and Engineering Tools, and Director of Engineering Services. Joseph oversaw the build and tools development team, managed the operation of the Luminate Online production IT system, and facilitated the transition to Amazon Web Services (AWS) for increased deployment standardization.

Joseph's early career includes positions as a Senior Trainer at Compu-Train Inc., where they educated clients on software packages and consulted on programming projects, and as a Senior Engineer/Project Lead at Synergis Inc., where they led the release of a telecommunications network optimization software package.

Joseph's experience also includes working as a System Administrator for Silicon Graphics workstations at Purdue University Computer Science Department, where they gained Unix administration experience.
