Jessica Chang Bernal has extensive work experience in the banking industry, primarily with BBVA and its subsidiaries. Jessica started their career in 1997 as an Analyst of Business Banking at BBVA Continental, where they worked until 1999. Jessica then worked at BBVA from 1999 to 2000 as a Credit Analyst. Jessica returned to BBVA Continental in 2000 and held various roles, including Responsible for Admission of Service and Telecommunications, Sub Manager of Wholesale Admission, and Manager of Business Banking Global. In 2006, they became a Manager of Monitoring and later served as Manager of Business Banking, Risk & Portfolio Management, and Wholesale Risk Manager at BBVA Continental. In 2017, they joined BBVA en Perú as Manager of Monitoring, Collection, and Recovery, and in 2020, they became the Head of Wholesale Credit.

Jessica Chang Bernal earned a Licenciatura in Finanzas, general from Universidad de Lima from 1992 to 1996. Jessica then pursued a Master of Business Administration - MBA in Administración y gestión de empresas, general from CENTRUM Graduate Business School from 2004 to 2007. Recently, in 2016 and 2017, they studied Coaching Ontologico at Newfield Consulting.
