Karen Coleman, MBA

Karen Coleman, MBA has a diverse work experience. Karen began their career in 2009 as an Independent HR and Business Consultant, where they developed business plans, created budgets and financial projections, and worked with organizations to develop and improve HR processes and procedures. In 2012, they took on the role of Administrative Assistant at Chicago Public Schools (CPS), where they supervised a team of interns in training and managed their work flow, scheduling work hours, and mentoring their personal development. In 2015, they became an Executive Assistant at Kaplan University, where they assisted with developing and editing curriculum of business subjects related to nursing, and assisted with interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for Chairs and Faculty. In 2019, they joined Transit Safety & Security Solutions, Inc. as a Human Resources Specialist and System Safety & Security Administrator, where they implemented training and development plans for staff and management, planned performance review sessions, sourced, recruited and interviewed candidates (salaried and hourly), checked references, and performed background checks. Most recently in 2021, they joined BCT Partners as a Human Resources Generalist.

Karen Coleman, MBA has a comprehensive educational background. Karen completed a Bachelor's of Science in Visual Communications from Westwood College between 2004 and 2007. Karen then obtained an MBA in Human Resources from Colorado Technical University between 2011 and 2012. In 2016, they earned a Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Kaplan University, which they completed in 2019. Most recently, they obtained a HR for People Managers Specialization from the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management, which they are expected to complete in 2021.
