Derek Fredrickson

Derek Fredrickson has over 10 years of experience in the software engineering industry. In 2010, they began their career as a Production Rearrangement Support Intern at GE Transportation. In 2011, they became a Hardware Analysis Engineer Intern at the same company. In 2012, they were a Software Engineering Intern at GE Healthcare. In 2013, they were a Software Edison Engineer at GE Healthcare, where they investigated functionality and profiled performance of a new accelerator device on existing code base for CT image processing algorithms. In 2015, they were a Software Engineer at Omnyx, where they implemented backend RESTful services in C# to support both internal and 3rd party image analysis tools. From 2016 to 2022, they worked at UPMC Enterprises, where they held various positions including Lead Software Engineer - Services, Lead Software Engineer - Android, Senior Software Engineer, and Intermediate Software Engineer. Currently, they are the Mobile Engineering Manager and Senior Android Engineer at Beam Impact.

Derek Fredrickson completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh between 2011 and 2013. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Westminster College between 2008 and 2011.
