Hein Behrens

Hein Behrens is a seasoned backend engineer with extensive experience in developing and optimizing systems across various industries. Currently serving as a Senior Backend Engineer at Beamery since March 2020, Behrens has successfully developed a large reporting system handling over 10TB of data and implemented a Kafka data pipeline utilizing Google Cloud Spanner. Prior roles include Software Engineer positions at Redbrick Research, focusing on improving customer onboarding and reporting options, and at TES Global, where Behrens worked on recruitment systems incorporating modern technologies. Previous experiences also include modernizing a travel insurance system at Holiday Extras, developing Java web services at SBE Ltd, and co-owning a retail company, Curvaciones S.L. Educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from London Metropolitan University and an Honours degree in Econometrics from the University of Johannesburg.
