Head Of Collections at Beamish Museum

Dan Hudachek started their work experience in 2010 at Beamish Museum, where they held various roles. Dan began as a Collections Assistant, leading a team in a stores move project. Dan then became a Registrar, overseeing collections management and assisting with creating a training scheme for museum professionals. After that, they worked as a Collections Project Officer, leading two large-scale collections rationalization and relocation projects. Their next role was Collections Officer, where they supervised collections management and balanced the needs of existing collections with an ongoing expansion project. Finally, they became the Head of Collections, where they currently serve as the head of the department responsible for managing over 2.5 million collection items. Before Beamish Museum, Dan worked as the Director of Automotive Restoration Development at McPherson College from 2007 to 2009.

Dan Hudachek received their Bachelor of Arts degree from McPherson College in 2007, where they studied Historic Automotive Restoration and Theatre. In 2010, they completed their Master of Arts degree in Museology/Museum Studies from Newcastle University. Prior to their college education, Dan attended Stillwater Area High School from 1999 to 2002.
