Kathy McGeathy

Kathy McGeathy has extensive experience in community support and advocacy, currently serving as the Client and Community Liaison with the SURF Club at Bear River Health since April 2020. Prior roles include Clinical Trainer and Resource and Housing Coordinator at the same organization. Kathy's background at The Disability Network spans over two decades, where responsibilities included Options Counseling Training in Person Centered Thinking, Nursing Facility Transition outreach and Program Supervisor, and Advocacy Team Leader for the Nursing Home Transition program. Additionally, Kathy facilitated Person Centered Planning Meetings and trained direct care workers at Wayne State University Developmental Disabilities Institute. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from the University of Michigan-Flint and two associate degrees from Mott Community College in Social Services and Deaf Studies.
