James Kalowsky has over 20 years of experience in the U.S. Navy. James began their career in 2001 as a Project Manager at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where they were responsible for executing over 40K MDs of depot level repairs, completing the work below cost and ahead of schedule. In 2004, they became a Requirements Manager at Commander Submarine Forces Pacific, where they were responsible for programming/budgeting and execution of Pacific Fleet submarine availabilities. In 2006, they returned to Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF as a Project Manager and delivered the first early/on time CNO completion in six years. From 2007 to 2009, they served as Director of Deployed Maintenance/Repair Officer at USS FRANK CABLE and Program Manager for Maintenance and Modernization Requirements at the U.S. Navy. In 2011, they became PMO Director/Operations Officer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, where they were Chief of Operations for a Project Management Office. In 2014, they were promoted to Commander, Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Hawaii Regional Maintence Center, leading a 6,000 person workforce to execute 8M man-hours of Navy ship maintenance per year. From 2017 to 2019, they served as Senior Program Manager for Maintenance and Modernization at US Navy COMSUBPAC. James currently works as a Product Manager at Beast Code, starting in 2022.

James Kalowsky began their educational career in 1987 when they obtained the Basic Airborne Parachute Qualification from the United States Army. James then attended the United States Naval Academy from 1987 to 1991, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and General Engineering. In 1993, they completed the Qualified Nuclear Engineer program through the Department of Energy and obtained the Submarine Warfare Qualified Officer certification from the US Navy. In 1998, they went on to receive a Master of Science in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School. In 2010, they obtained the Acquisition Professional Community Member certification from the Defense Acquisition University, followed by the Program Manager 1 and Engineer 1 and 2 certifications in the same year. In 2011, they received the Production Quality Management Level III certification from the Defense Acquisition University. In 2013, they obtained the Major Acquisition Command Qualification from the US Navy. In 2018, they achieved the PMP and PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certifications from the Project Management Institute and in 2019, they obtained the ITIL Foundation Level certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice and the Prosci Certified Change Practitioner certification from Prosci. In 2020, they achieved the KCS v6 Fundamentals Certification from The KCS Academy, the AWS Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification from Microsoft. Finally, in November 2019, they obtained the Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
