Nate Berne

Humanities Teacher -- Middle School at Beaverton School District

Nate Berne has a diverse work experience spanning from 2006 to 2017. Nate began their career as a Teacher's Assistant at Chapman University in 2006, and later worked as a Literary Agency Assistant at Innovative Artists. In 2007, they volunteered as a Martial Arts Instructor at United Studios Of Self Defense. From 2008 to 2009, they held various roles including Director of Development at Alex Rose Productions, Executive Assistant to the Chair of the Dodge Conservatory at Chapman University, and Independent Marketing Contractor at John Cassese: The Dance Doctor Studio. Additionally, they worked as a Script Coverage Writer at Pneuma from 2006 to 2009. From 2006 to 2010, Berne served as a Feature Script Coverage Analyst at Film Independent. Nate also worked extensively in Japan as a Language Teacher and Prefectural Adviser in the JET Programme from 2010 to 2015. Most recently, since 2017, they have been working as a Humanities Teacher at Beaverton School District.

Nate Berne's education history includes a Master of Education (MEd) degree in Secondary Education and Teaching with a dual-endorsement in English and Social Studies from Portland State University, which they pursued from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) in Screenwriting & Film Studies from Chapman University, completed between 2004 and 2006. Nate Berne also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in American Studies with a concentration in Media Studies from Carleton College, which they completed from 1998 to 2002. Nate'sfield of study includes English, Media Studies, and various subjects related to education.
