Aly Somani has pursued an extensive education in the field of Economics. They first completed their Bachelor of Mathematics in Mathematics and Economics at the University of Waterloo, from 2006 to 2012. Following this, Aly continued their education at the University of Toronto, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics, graduating in 2017. Aly's academic journey further led them to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Economics at the University of Toronto, which they are expected to complete in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Aly Somani obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) Charterholder certification from the CFA Institute in November 2016.
