Alexis Patterson has extensive work experience in the communications and media field. Alexis started their career in 2002 as an Associate Producer at KXAS, where they wrote and researched stories, produced newscasts, and field produced major events. Alexis then worked as a Reporter at KBTV from 2005 to 2007, covering general assignments and Hurricane Rita aftermath. Alexis joined KEYE-TV in 2007 as a Reporter, reporting on various topics and serving as a legislative reporter during the 81st Texas Legislative Session.
In 2009, Alexis transitioned to Austin Community College District as an Associate Director of Public Information, responsible for promoting the college's programs and achievements through external communications channels. During their tenure, they significantly increased editorial media features about the college. Alexis also held previous roles at the college as the Media Relations Coordinator and Senior Public Information Coordinator.
From 2014 to 2019, Alexis worked at Tarrant County College, The S & G Group, and Austin Community College in various Communications and Media Specialist roles. Their responsibilities included managing communications, media relations, community communications, and web communications.
Most recently, Alexis served as the Managing Editor at DFWChild Magazines from 2019 to 2022, overseeing content production and managing editorial operations.
Currently, Alexis is working as a Senior Manager, Strategic Content + Collaborative Challenger at Medium Giant, where they focus on creating strategic content and collaborating on challenging projects.
Alexis Patterson pursued their education, starting in 1998, at Texas Christian University. Alexis completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Radio, Television, and Film in 2002. Subsequently, in 2002-2003, they furthered their studies at Texas Christian University and obtained a Master's degree in Media Arts.
