We are seeking an Accounting Systems Analyst to join our Finance team in our Boulder, Colorado office. You will work closely with the Head of Finance and the Controller to create a world-class finance function within Belvedere. 

The Accounting Systems Analyst will be responsible for evaluating, implementing, and managing our accounting systems. Specifically, streamline financial processes, ensure accuracy, and improve efficiencies. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and proficiency in accounting software and systems. This individual will deeply understand and improve our monthly processes including accounts payable, payroll, tax preparation, month-end close, and forecasting.  

What you'll do

  • Assess current accounting systems and processes identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Collaborate with finance team members to gather requirements and understand business needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend accounting software solutions that align with business objectives and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and IT teams to implement, configure, and customize accounting software as needed.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, user manuals, and training materials for accounting systems and processes.
  • Provide training and support to team on accounting systems and software usage.
  • Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues to ensure data integrity and system functionality.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to accounting systems and technology.
  • Analyze the trends of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), especially relating to financial metrics, and identify the cause of any unexpected variances.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

What you'll need

  • An entrepreneurial mindset, ambition, and outstanding organizational skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related fields
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in an Accounting Systems or similar analytical role
  • Ability to retrieve, consolidate, and analyze data from ERP System (Acumatica, preferred)
  • Experience generating custom views and reports within an ERP system.
  • Experience with SQL, MS Access, or similar (bonus points for experience with programming languages such as Python or R or an ETL too such as Alteryx)
  • Ability to mine large sets of data from multiple data sources to identify trends/variances and to structure sophisticated reports and financial models for decision support.
  • Familiarity with building dashboards in PowerBI or another Business Intelligence Platform (Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Dedication to maintaining strict confidentiality to highly sensitive information.
