Joseph Oberholtzer has a varied work experience, beginning in 2008 as a Snowboard Instructor Intern at Vail Resorts. In 2009, they worked as a Construction Laborer for Imperial Investment Group. In 2011, they worked as a Range Technician for Jacob's Technology. In 2012, they worked as a Student Nuclear Engineer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and a CH-47 Delivery Center (Flight Test) Engineering Intern at Boeing. In 2013, they began working at Masten Space Systems as a Rocket Controls and Instrumentation Engineer, where they were responsible for flight code, simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, flight readiness reviews, safe vehicle operation, and post-flight analysis, as well as instrumentation and control lead for engine test stands. In 2017, they began working at Kitty Hawk as a Propulsion Test Engineering Manager. In 2022, they began working at Benchmark Space Systems as a GNC Engineer.
