Laura Berland is currently an advisor at Benevolently. Laura has over 18 years of experience in marketing, strategic consulting, and business development.
Laura started their career as an Internet Strategy Consultant to the President of Marketing at CBS Radio from 2003-2004. Laura then became the Chief Marketing Officer at StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson from 2011-2020. During their time there, they oversaw all aspects of marketing and played a key role in growing the show's audience.
In 2007, Laura became the VP of Marketing at Cardean Learning Group. Laura then moved to Aurix USA as the SVP of Marketing in 2008. From 2010-2011, Laura was an Investor and Business Development Manager at XGraph. XGraph was acquired by AddThis in 2011 and then Oracle in 2016.
Laura has also served as a Strategic Digital Consultant to the CEO of Reed Elsevier from 2008-2011. In this role, they spearheaded the development of several new digital information products in the healthcare sector.

After graduating from Horace Greeley High School, Laura Berland attended Cornell University where they earned their BS in marketing. Laura then went on to earn their masters in Interactive Telecommunications from New York University. Laura is a certified yoga therapist, having received certification from the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF YOGA THERAPISTS in 800 Hour Certified Yoga Therapist C-IAYT, as well as Mindful Yoga Therapy 100 Hour Certification and Y12SR Leadership Certification from Mindfull Yoga Therapy and Yoga Shanti respectively. Laura also has 500 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification E-RYT from both The Hard and The Soft Yoga Institute.
