Elizabeth Frick is a scientific manager at Benson Hill since August 2021, specializing in the genetic basis of tomato flavor to develop better-tasting varieties. Prior to this role, Elizabeth served as a postdoctoral research associate in the Klee lab at the University of Florida, where the focus was on the identification and characterization of flavor synthesis genes in tomatoes. Earlier experience includes strategic consulting for early-stage biotechnology companies at The BALSA Group, conducting doctoral research on peroxisome division under stress conditions at Washington University in St. Louis, and undergraduate research on auxin transport and cell differentiation at Allegheny College. Elizabeth holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Plant Biology from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from Allegheny College.
