Mingxin Jia

Mingxin Jia is a graduate research assistant at Berkeley Lab specializing in thermodynamic cycles for refrigeration and desalination, with projects involving the use of dimethyl ether as a refrigerant and the development of innovative solar-thermal separation techniques. Concurrently, Mingxin serves as a graduate student researcher at UC Berkeley's Nano-Energy Lab, focusing on advanced thermal characterization methods. Previous experience includes internships at Tesla, Western Digital, and WWF, where Mingxin contributed to initiatives in thermal R&D and renewable energy. Mingxin holds a PhD and MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University.
